SiteProof can start a review from a website link

The October 26 web update adds public website links alongside static-site ZIP uploads, and lets owners update an existing preview while keeping its review link and comments.

AvailabilityDeployed web beta since October 26, 2026. Linked previews accept public HTTP(S) websites; private network pages, sign-in flows, and complex application behavior are outside this preview workflow.

SiteProof’s October 26, 2026 web deployment adds a Website link option alongside static-site ZIP uploads. This October 28 note also covers updating a review in place, so an ongoing discussion can stay at the same link while the website changes.

01

Start from a website address or ZIP

Choose Website link for a public HTTP or HTTPS website, or ZIP file for a packaged static site with its HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and assets. Both paths create a review workspace with the existing page-position comment flow.

The link workflow fetches and adapts public website content for preview. It rejects private/local addresses and credentials embedded in URLs. This is a review preview rather than a way to open private network resources, reproduce a signed-in session, or guarantee every dynamic application feature works inside the preview.

02

Keep the review while replacing its source

The owner view can replace an uploaded ZIP or change the website URL. The same review identifier and existing comments remain, so reviewers can return to the link they already have instead of starting a new discussion.

Returning reviewers can see a preview-update indicator based on their previous visit. Comments retain their stored page path and position; if the layout moves, the owner and reviewer should confirm that an older note still points to the intended part of the new page.

03

Deployment and access

The reviewed source matches the successful web deployment completed October 26 at 4:45 PM in Saskatchewan. The update is available through siteproof.goodtools.ca.

The owner link controls source updates and deletion. Keep it separate from the review link you give to reviewers.
